The history of our house dates back well beyond the starting of our chapter. The Sigma Nu, Theta Xi house at Virginia Tech was originally located on the Virginia Tech campus as an academic building. The house was moved in the 1920s to its current location at 401 Progress Street by the Honorable Dan Frith. At that time, the house was outfitted with many new features and was rented to students of the university. The men that lived in the house were the same men that later received our charter from Sigma Nu. In 1998, the alumni of Sigma Nu, Theta Xi created an organization, Progress Properties Inc., to buy the house from its owner and keep the house for the fraternity. To this day, Progress Properties Inc. and the over 450 alumni of Sigma Nu Theta Xi own this property.
The house is over 100 years old and continually sees improvement projects in an effort to maximize its potential while modernizing it for all who call it home. The house is located in one of the best areas of Blacksburg and is a mere stone's throw from downtown Main Street and campus.
